Epic Games dropped a massive amount of content for Fortnite Chapter 5. Lately, they adjusted some new mechanisms according to their observations and fans’ feedback. Previously, they adjusted the Storm Cycle time. With the latest adjustments, they made some changes to the Society Medallion in Fortnite. This impacts the gameplay a lot since these changes might reduce the advantage previously gained by players who acquired the Medallions.

Changes in the Fortnite Medallions and its Impact on the Gameplay

Previously, when you acquired a Medallion, you would get a 100% shield refill. However, with the new adjustments, you must have all five Medallions in Fortnite to gain 100% max shield regen. Gaining more of them will increase the maximum shield cap. Also, Shield regen will not start immediately; instead, it will begin after a brief delay. In addition, the regen rate is slightly reduced.

Also, yellow circles indicate that the Medallion holder will be smaller than before. This means if you are holding a Medallion, other players can hunt you more easily than before. Epic Games may have adjusted the mechanism to bring more balance to the game. If you are on a bounty hunt for the Medallion Holder, previously, it was a bit difficult to bring them down since they were always regaining their shield and health. However, this new update will make it more challenging for the holder to survive in Fortnite.

On the other hand, it may be more challenging to take down all five bosses since they are located in different areas of the map. But the good news is that their locations are known and marked on the map so players can plan accordingly. I tried to gain all these five Medallions in one match but was unsuccessful. But checking the internet, I found some players have managed to get these Fortnite Medallions in a single match, which is incredible.

Epic Games have also changed some weapons’ magazine size and damage rates, and the Reaper Sniper Rifle drop rate has been reduced by around 40%. However, the most impactful change is the addition of Medallions and how it affects the gameplay.
