Final Fantasy XV was supposed to release on November 29, 2016. That’s still the case for most of the world, however, certain regions have gotten hold of the title over a week in advance. Videos and gameplay coverage have already surfaced online, potentially spoiling elements of the story for those unable to play the game for themselves as of yet. This circumstance defines the intention of the developers to release the game simultaneously in all regions. Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata posted a statement over Twitter regarding the unintentional early release:

Speaking of release day, Square Enix shared the details of Final Fantasy XV’s day one patch. Named the Crown, the update adds in cutscenes from the Kingsglaive movie, better camera tracking, extra cooking recipes, and a gallery for the recipes. Players will be able to share snapshots to social media as well, and Wait Mode is given an ability tree that allows the user to slow down time. Finally, a beast whistle can be used to initiate monster encounters. As the “day-one” moniker suggests, the patch will release on November 29. The rumored 7 GB file size has not been officially confirmed.

Lastly, Square Enix just released an extended Final Fantasy XV 101 trailer with plenty of info about the game – but without any plot spoilers, so no worries there. Check it out below if you haven’t seen it already.

Final Fantasy XV is also scheduled for a PS4 Pro update. Due in December, the resolution will be upped to 1080p at 60 fps but will include an option for 4k and 30fps. Between the accidental early release, a first-day patch for the correct release, the new trailer, and incoming update for PS4 Pro, Noctis, and his buds are getting quite a bit of attention. And they’ll continue to get it for some time to come.
