Cher ends 2023 on a sour note with her son Elijah Blue Allman. This year, there has been a lot of drama between the 77-year-old legendary entertainer and her 47-year-old son. It seems that it is all coming to a head, and Cher is tired of messing around, so she is filing legal action to take control of her youngest son’s financial affairs.
Cher Steps in To Take Control of Elijah Blue Allman’s Money
Elijah Blue Allman is the son of Cher and the late rocker Gregg Allman. Much like his father, Elijah battles with his mental health and a severe drug addiction. Cher continues to grow concerned for her son and feels he is past the point of making sound financial decisions independently. So she wants to step in and take control before he blows through the trust his late father set up for him.
TMZ reports that Cher feels Elijah Blue’s struggle is rapidly worsening. So, she wants to try and protect his assets before he blows all his money on drugs and partying. Cher has been concerned for him for quite a while now. Rumors circulated last September that she hired men to kidnap Elijah Blue Allman and drag him off to a rehab facility. However, the singer denies the accusations, saying she had nothing to do with it.
Like Father, Like Son
Cher filed court documents on Wednesday, December 27, claiming that her son Elijah Blue Allman is unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health issues and substance abuse issues. According to TMZ, Elijah receives monthly payouts from his trust fund that his mother believes is going to buy drugs instead of covering his basic monthly living expenses.
Sadly, it looks like Elijah Blue Allman has chosen to follow in his late dad’s footsteps. Because of this, Cher and two of Elijah’s siblings agree she is best suited to control his finances. Cher also adds that Elijah’s wife, Marieangela King, is currently unfit to control their finances. She also accuses her of continuing to undermine Elijah’s attempts to seek the help he needs.
Cher will have her day in court on March 6, 2024. Hopefully, Elijah Blue Allman will soon get the help he needs. Sooner rather than later, he will understand that she only looks out for his best interest.
