The success of simulation genre – no not virtual reality or augmented reality – in the gaming industry has been on of the oddest crazes in recent history. A direct sequel to the 2008 vehicle simulator game Euro Truck Simulator, SCS Software released Euro Truck Simulator 2 on October 19, 2012.
Since it’s release, the sequel has sold of 4.9 Million units as of September 2016, and the company continues to make free downloadable content. Earlier today SCS Software released an expansion trailer for Euro Truck Simulator 2 titled Viva La France.

The DLC promises to extend France’s broad streets, narrow boulevards and open outdoors. With 20,000 km of new roads and highways to explore, to say this expansion is expansive would be an understatement.
Alongside additional roads comes 15 new cities to explore, including numerous famous french landmarks and recognizable places. To compliment the city, rural french villages, lush new scenery – featuring enhanced vegetation and new forest ecosystems – and new industries, like Nuclear Power Plants, will also make up the new update.
New companies will be available to work for, with each specific companies containing new and unique cargos to haul. The French tollgate system will affect routes, as truckers either have to pay a toll to pass, or “get a ticket” such that a toll can be collected when they leave the tolled section. Tolls range from 3 to 234 Euros.
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Viva La France! is expected to release on December 5 as free DLC for Windows, Mac and SteamOS. The download will require 3GB of available hard drive space, as well as 4 – 6GB of RAM.
