Since the Switch trailer was released, the Nintendo rumor mill has been working overtime. I feel like every week there is a new title rumored to be available on Nintendo’s newest console, and we’ve just got the newest one: Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+.

In a blog post released by the game’s publisher, Nicalis, earlier today they announced a time frame for the console release of The Binding of Isaac’s expansion. They mentioned the release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and “one more console”. The release date was also set for some time in Spring 2017. Hmm, like after the  Nintendo Switch’s projected release date in March 2017? Quite the coincidence there!

The blog post also states that Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will not be released for the Wii U or the PS Vita. So, the options for “one more console” are slowly dwindling.

Isaac just wants to be enjoyed by all!

When it comes to the Switch, more than a few developers, much like the rest of us, seem to be enthusiastic yet hesitant to completely commit to Nintendo’s newest system. It was quite the topic of conversation when Skyrim was featured in the Switch’s reveal trailer, and it made everyone pretty hopeful about Nintendo’s desire to finally adapt to the current gaming market. However, a Bethesda spokesperson came forward and stated that while in full support of Nintendo, they are not creating Skyrim for the console necessarily. EA has also announced a potential Switch project but has buttoned up about the details.

Nintendo Switch has promised so much in the few months since its reveal, and everyone is hoping and wishing for the best. Nostalgia is one of the few things that has kept Nintendo afloat in the past years, but it looks like they are finally ready to play with the big boys like Sony and Microsoft.
