Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s open-world Zombies experience is becoming outdated very fast. This game mode is a lot different from what the OG Zombies fans remember from fighting the undead in CoD, and now it requires a refresh two months after release. MW3 Season 1 did bring a new Dark Aether part to the game, which was a remake version of Al Mazrah’s Al Bagra Fortress. New missions, however? Nope, only a single new assignment with a cinematic cutscene in the end. But what about new MWZ missions in MW3 Zombies Season 1 Reloaded? Let’s find out.
Everything New Coming To MW3 Zombies Season 1 Reloaded
- New Warlord: Dokkaebi
Sadly for the MWZ fans, the only new addition to the MW3 Zombies in Season 1 Reloaded is a new Warlord. This is a new DMZ-like content for MW3 Zombies, where players have to fight their way through the not-so-dead enemy soldiers and kill a high-tier commander in the end. So far we only had the Legacy as the one and only Warlord in MWZ, and now Dokkaebi joins the fight.
The new MW3 Zombies Warlord is a commander blessed with the knowledge of advanced tech and electronic warfare. So if you try taking her down, you’d have to go through drones, bombs, a ton of Terminus soldiers, and a Wheelson. If you’ve previously played the DMZ mode in Ashika Island before, then you know how on nerve the Wheelson is.
It’s officially confirmed that defeating this Warlord will grant high-tier loot to the players, which will probably include a golden skull and a legendary weapon. She’s waiting for you in Zaravan City on the southwest side of the Urzikestan map in Season 1 Reloaded.
MWZ New Missions Release Date
MW3 Zombies Season 1 Reloaded starts on January 17th but will not include any new missions for this game mode. So far, there is no info on when the fresh Act IV missions will be added to the MWZ. Still, it’s safe to assume that Seasons 2 and 3 are the target goals for the developers to plan their new Modern Warfare Zombies content.
It’s worth noting that there are a lot of leaks and info on the addition of exfil streaks, MWZ wallet, and more returning DMZ features. However, none has been confirmed by the patch notes. These leaks might have been the plans that were scrapped from the final project, or we might just see them in the upcoming Seasonal updates.
So, the first Season of MW3 doesn’t have that much undead content to offer. This is certainly bad news for fans. But if you remember, both Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard did the same in terms of Zombie’s new content drops in previous years. None of them featured a new map or massive changes in their Zombies mode in the first season. So there’s still a redeeming chance for MW3 Zombies to deliver high-quality content like maps, new types of enemies, and, most importantly, more Dark Aether stories to follow in the upcoming seasons.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded kicks off on January 17th, and we can expect the next season to start on February 7th.
