The first trailer for the documentary DOOM: Resurrected (not the iOS ported game) was posted on NoClip productionโs YouTube. Headed by former Gamespot journalist Danny OโDwyer, the project shows the behind the scenes of the creation of the latest DOOM, as well as exclusive insight and never before seen footage of the cancelled DOOM 4 project.
DOOM: Resurrected will be NoClipโs second video game documentary, as the first focused on the indie game phenomenon Rocket League. While The Story of Rocket League revolved around the long and arduous process of creating aย new IP, Resurrected will emphasize the trials and tribulations that come with rebuilding a project from the ground up.

Pile that on top of the pressure of the preconceived notions and expectations of what fans think the next installment of the pre-established DOOM franchise should embody and youโve got a hell of a lot of pressure. ย ย The trailer shows that the developers were certainly stressed, as they speak about the effects those expectations have candidly.
โA lot of money is spent when you make something and you decide to move away from it. So we have to do this, and it has to be great.โ
The documentary will be broken into three parts, with Part 1 (To Hell and Back) releasing this Monday December 12th on NoClipโs YouTube account at 9pm pacific time. The second (Designing a First Impression) and final part (Guns, Guitars and Chess on Mars) will be released consecutively on Tuesday and Wednesday at the same time.
DOOM: Resurrected and NoClip was funded completely by Patreonย and offers exclusive perks for investments. To invest, head over to OโDwyer’s site link in the text above and be sure to keep your eye out for other documentaries by NoClip, as this is just the first of many.
