The new open-world survival monster-catching game Palworld has become an instant smash hit, and its official Twitter/X account is celebrating two million sales in its first 24 hours. The game, which has naturally drawn comparisons with Pokemon due to its cute creature-taming concept, is still only in Steam Early Access, but its reviews stand at “very positive” as more and more players flood in, causing notable strain on the servers.
2+ Million Palworld Sales
The Early Access release date for Palworld on Steam was January 19th, and just recently the official Twitter/X account for the game posted the tweet above about how the game has already amassed two million “pal tamers” in only 24 hours. The game has also already received nearly 13,000 reviews in the 24 hours of being officially available for play, so it’s safe to say that Palworld is the first big hit of 2024.
This success doesn’t come without its issues, though. The massive number of players Palworld has received with its high sales has also resulted in a huge strain on its servers. Many outlets have been reporting on players not being able to connect to co-op or having severe lag issues when connecting since launch, resulting in the developer putting out a statement that there was an emergency meeting to resolve connectivity issues. Hopefully, the game will continue to stabilize in the coming days as more players funnel in.
