Among all the shotguns in the Call of Duty HQ, there’s only one that can one-tap enemies back to the lobby in Warzone: The Lockwood 300. This MW2 weapon wasn’t a huge deal back when MW2 was launched in 2022. In 2023 however, it was gifted with a new Dual Trigger attachment that allowed the players to shoot both of Lockwood 300’s barrels at once. What does that mean? One-shot kills on against full armor plates! After a period of removing the attachment from the game, it’s now back in Warzone for Lockwood 300, breaking the game’s meta once more.
Lockwood 300 Has Become A Nightmare For Warzone Players
Since I got the news that the Dual Trigger attachment is back, I built this setup above and started using it. However, after nearly every kill I got with the double-barrel shotgun, the opposing player yelled “SHOTGUN!” Most players are presumably not happy with this addition, which was removed for a while to keep the balance between shotguns, and SMGs for close-range combat.
It’s because when you use the Lockwood 300 with Dual Trigger attachment in Warzone, you give your opponent a 0 chance to use the movement system, dodge your aim, and fight back. Hold the line at the stairs, and boom; it’s over. Although it’s quite nerfed at the moment, not allowing players to get sweet one-shots in more than 10-15m range. But is it a good thing to have in the game?
If one can kill enemies by clicking the R2/RT button only once in a close-range gunfight, then what’s the usage of bringing in an SMG? We already have meta ARs for the mid-range, and snipers and LMGs like MCPR and Pulemyot have proven worthy for long-range battles. So, is it all shotgun now when you’re facing an opponent on the stairs? Hands down, it is a broken feature.
As of right now, the Lockwood 300’s meta is not addressed by the developers, and its buff was in the shadows for some reason in Warzone Season 1 Reloaded. However, if the backlash continues and fans get increasingly annoyed with this feature, the Dual Trigger attachment might get removed once more in the upcoming Season 2 update or even sooner.
Update:
A recent update to the game has blocked using the Dual Trigger attachment for the Lockwood 300 in Warzone, while it’s still available in MW3.
