Once you reach the Yabbashah block in Tartarus, you will encounter a mini-boss called Ochlocratic Sand. These shadows are quite dangerous since they can cause various AoE damage to your team. In order to avoid Game Over, it is best to immediately strike Ochlocratic Sand’s weakness in Persona 3 Reload. That’s why we have made this guide to help new players beat this mini-boss so you can continue your Tartarus exploration.
How to Beat Ochlocratic Sand in Persona 3 Reload
Ochlocratic Sand is the mini-boss you must face in Yabbashah block Floor 77. There are three Shadows that you have to defeat, and here are their weaknesses and resistances in Persona 3 Reload:
- Weakness: Ice
- Resist: Light and Dark
- Repel: Fire
- Null: Electric and Ice
- Absorb: None
Ochlocratic Sand is very dangerous because this Shadow can cast various AoE attacks that can greatly hurt your party. Before starting the fight, you should cast Fuuka’s Sylphid Aura skill to increase your team’s defense and speed.
To quickly end this boss battle, the protagonist should equip a Persona with Ice magic. However, ensure that your Persona is not weak against Fire because Ochlocratic Sand can cast Maragion. Unfortunately, most Persona with Bufu is vulnerable to this element. One way to avoid this issue is by using a Skill Card to teach Ice magic to a Persona resistant to Fire.
Best Team Composition
You may be tempted to bring Mitsuru into this boss battle since Penthesilea has Bufula, but that’s a bad idea. She is weak against Fire, making her a poor match against Ochlocratic Sand. Here are the team composition I recommend using:
- DPS: Protagonist
- Healer: Yukari
- Support: Aigis & Akihiko
During my playthrough, I entered this boss battle blind, so I had Mitsuru on my team. The boss managed to knock her down and performed a follow-up attack. Luckily, Yukari was able to dodge the oncoming Pulinpa. The protagonist dealt the most damage since I had Mithras with Mabufu.
In the end, Mitsuru and the Protagonist were able to strike Ochlocratic Sand’s weakness consistently. I performed an All-Out Attack, and I also used Theurgy abilities to deal raw damage on the Shadows.
Beating Ochlocratic Sand will grant you 13,956 EXP, and you can also unlock the two treasure chests on this floor. You will get Power Incense II from the regular chest and the Floaty Sandals from the Twilight Fragment chest. Here are its stats:
- Evasion: 54
- Effect: +Physical evasion (low)
