Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is the spin-of Deep Rock Galactic that shares some core gameplay elements such as upgrading weapons. However, when you level up and upgrade a weapon in the game you will also get a Salvaging option as well. If you don’t know how the Overclock Salvaging works in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, here is a simple yet thorough explanation.

What Does Overclock Salvaging Do in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor?

In a shooter game, weapons are your main tools for progressing further. Upgrading them will not only make the game more fun but also easier to overcome challenges. In Deep Rock Galactic Survivor when you unlock the overclock mechanic, you can choose between two upgrades for your weapon, or select the third option which is Salvaging.

Salvaging might seem like a bad idea given the name of it, but it’s not like that at all. When your weapons reach levels 6, 12, or 18, the game will give you two upgrade options to choose from. If you don’t like either of them then you can simply select Salvage.

What salvaging in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor means is that the game will destroy those two upgrades and instead give you a random epic upgrade. So as you can see, it is not all that bad since you will get something out of it eventually. The only problem is that it is all based on luck. You might get an upgrade that will change your game drastically or just be another upgrade you don’t care for.

Therefore it is important to be sure none of the upgrades the game is giving is worth your playstyle. When you know none of them will affect your gameplay that much, it may be best to salvage them and see if your luck will bring you something more useful.

That’s everything you need to know about how salvaging works in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor.
