Fortnite has collaborated with so many artists over the years, from Travis Scott and J Balvin to Eminem and Ariana Grande. Now, they’re officially teaming up with Lady Gaga. The pop star will be joining the platform’s rhythm-based game Fortnite Festival on Thursday, Feb. 22. Lady Gaga shared the exciting news on X by posting a photo of her very own Fortnite skin, which appears to be inspired by her Chromatica era.
Lady Gaga Announces Fortnite Collaboration
The singer’s Fortnite collaboration will come five years after she admitted having no knowledge about the game. In October 2019, Lady Gaga asked her followers on X about “fortnight,” which prompted thousands of replies. Some fans informed her about the multiplayer game, while others trolled her by only commenting with wrong answers.
Flash forward to 2024, and it seems Lady Gaga has finally learned all about Fortnite. While announcing her collaboration with the franchise, the star proved she knows more about the game now than she did five years ago by correctly spelling Fortnite on X.
Lady Gaga will be joining the second season of Fortnite Festival. The music-based mode, similar to Rock Band and Guitar Hero, launched in December with its Opening Night Pass featuring The Weeknd. The pass rewarded gamers for engaging with Fortnite Festival’s Main Stage and Jam Stage modes by gifting them new cosmetics and playable songs. Users could also purchase a premium reward track for even more prizes, including an exclusive skin of The Weekend.
If Lady Gaga’s collaboration is anything like The Weeknd’s, then fans could likely expect her to get two Fortnite skins. If so, one will be available through the item shop, while another will be part of a new Fortnite Festival pass. It’s also possible more of her songs will be added to the Fortnite Festival following the addition of “Bad Romance” in December.
