Limit Breaks are incredibly powerful moves that deal devastating damage. If you’re in a bind, they can prove to be the difference between life and death. So, if you’re wondering how to use Limit Breaks in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, then we’ve got your back. Down below, we’ll explain all. Let’s begin!

How to Do Limit Breaks

To unleash a Limit Break, you’ll need to first fill up your Limit gauge, which is the yellow bar in the bottom right side of your HUD.

There are two ways to fill up your Limit gauge:

  1. Taking damage from enemies.
  2. Staggering enemies.

Once you’ve filled up your Limit gauge, you’ll be able to do a Limit Break. Open your Commands menu and toggle over to Limit. Here, you’ll be able to choose the specific Limit Break you want to unleash. They don’t require an ATB charge to use them.

Each party member has a distinct set of Limit Breaks to offer and they vary considerably.

It’s worth noting that some synergy abilities can actually increase a character’s Limit level. This unlocks more powerful Limit Break attacks.

How to Use Higher Level Limit Breaks

You can only use the Level 2 and 3 Limit Breaks after performing a Synergy Attack that specifically raises Limit Levels. Furthermore, spending Skill Points (SP) at Maghnata Book locations and Automats will help improve your party’s Folios. Doing so unlocks even more powerful Limit Breaks.

Crucially, hitting Party Level 8 unlocks the third and final Limit Break for your crew. These are some of the most powerful moves in the entire game, so they’re definitely worth unlocking. To increase your Party Level, you’ll need to complete side missions, help those in need, and explore the world of Gaia. In short, you’ll need to strengthen your party’s bonds to level up your Party Level.
