This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

If you’re a fan of Desert biome Realms in Nightingale, then you’ve probably noticed how hard it is to get bone or even hide from enemies defeated in the area. For the most part, you come across beetles, spiders, and loads of grasshoppers, but none of them drop the resources required to craft anything out of the usual animal drops. However, there’s a way to craft hide and bone both out of Chitin, called Chitinous Hide and Chitinous Bone in Nightingale, and I’m here to tell you exactly how to do it.

Before you can go about farming Chitinous Hide or Chitinous Bone, there are a few things you’ll need to have in your arsenal of tools first.

  1. Refined Tanning Station
  2. Hunting Knife (Preferably a more advanced one)

You won’t be able to craft either type of material until after you’ve unlocked and crafted a Refined Tanning Station, which requires you to have:

  • 4x Carved Wood
  • 2x Blade
  • 2x Lumber

Now, once you’ve got your tools ready to use, head out and collect as much Chitin as possible. The best way to do this is by hunting down grasshoppers, since they normally spawn in groups of at least three or four and can be found quite frequently around points of interest in a Desert Realm. Once you have enough Chitin collected, it’s time to head over to your Refined Tanning Station to craft some Chitinous Hide and Chitinous Bone in Nightingale. The great thing about converting Chitin into hide and bone is that there’s a one-to-one ratio, meaning every Chitin you get will craft into one hide or one bone.

She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
