Comedian and actorย Nick Swardsonย recently attracted a lot of attention after he was escorted off-stage during a stand-up show in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The show itself was filled with Swardson rambling, bickering with the audience, and promising impressions without actually doing them, leading to the venue’s activities director escorting him off-stage with severe apologies and promises of ticket refunds. Now, in the aftermath of the event, Nick Swardson is blaming his bizarre behavior on a combination of alcohol, edibles, and high altitude that gave him “brain diarrhea” during the show.
Nick Swardson Says He Had “Brain Diarrhea” During Colorado Show
As a pretty seasoned actor and comedian, Nick Swardson is known for spending the mid-2010s starring alongsideย Adam Sandlerย in comedies likeย Just Go With It, Jack and Jill,ย andย That’s My Boy.ย Since then, his career has expanded to include multiple voice and camera roles like Terry Bernadino inย Reno 911!, as well as a comedy career that takes him on tour to do stand-up shows, like the one in Beaver Creek, CO on Sunday.
The show’s audience members were surely looking forward to seeing Nick Swardson perform, but what they got instead was a rambling, agitated, almost nonsensical mess. Video of the performance posted to social media shows Swardson on stage, promising an imitation ofย Jason Stathamย inย Beekeepersย (2024), and then rambling on and uselessly hyping up the crowd without actually delivering the promised imitation. The audience began booing him after about a minute of this, and when Swardson asked, point-blank, “Do you want me to finish this or no?” The answer was a resounding “No!”
More clips from later in the “performance” show Swardson being escorted off stage, at which point the director of operations at the Vilar Performing Arts Center – the venue where Swardson had been scheduled – took his place with profuse apologies and directed guests to the box office for ticket refunds. Nick Swardson himself remained silent about his behavior until Monday morning, when he took to X (formerly known as Twitter) withย this explanation:
Just casually woke up on TMZ. Travel tip: donโt drink and take edibles in high altitude. F***ing brain diarrhea. Iโll make it up to you Beaver Creek!”

If his tweet is to be believed, then Swardson was pretty heavily under the influence before he ever stepped foot on stage, as well as suffering from the effects of altitude on the human body’s absorption rates. It’s currently unclear if Swardson is facing any repercussions for his behavior Sunday night or if he’ll ever be invited back to Beaver Creek, Colorado, for a do-over show as he promised in his tweet. The affected venue has not commented on the issue yet.
