The aforementioned showdown takes place above the city of Denver. With Ryan under the delusion that he is the one true Sentry, he has murdered the other Sentries. Next on his list is journalist Mallory Gibbs. However, he soon begins to hear the slaughtered Sentries’ voices in his head, causing him to physically lash out against Jessica Jones and Mallory. As a fight erupts, Mallory attempts to save the civilians caught in the crossfire. She then mentally enters Ryan’s head. Here, she encounters the spirits of those Ryan has killed: Farhad Anand, Marv Chow, Rosalinda Bruno, and Deniz Derya.

Utilizing all their strength, the five Sentries are able to subdue Ryan and put an end to his fanatical murder spree. As the spirits drift off into whatever awaits them next, Mallory is able to absorb their powers. This makes her Marvel’s newest Sentry. However, the journalist decides that she wants to make her own way and name. So, she ditches name in lieu of Solarus. A bold move by Jason Loo.
