Just eight weeks after it’s initial release, The Last Guardian has received a $20 price cut, dropping from $59.99 to $39.99. Considering there are PS2 games in Walmart that are still worth that amount, the discount is surprising, especially for Sony.

Oh yeah that price totally seems reasonable

According to Polygon, a Sony representative confirmed the new price tag will be available on Playstation platforms everywhere Action Adventure game is sold physically and digitally. Amazon, Playstation Store, Gamestop and Best Buy are just a few of the confirmed retailers that list the new $40 cost for The Last Guardian.

Reviews for the young boy and Trico have been favorable among critics but mixed among the consumers. It’s no secret that The Last Guardian was originally suppose to be released on the PS3 – after ten years of delays – but many found the game to be out of date by the time it released.

Barrels, it just had to be Barrels

Frustrations in regards to Trico’s actions – not always listening, needing specific actions to be done precisely, and being so needed about those damned barrels – have also sparked debates about using the excuse of dog’s don’t always behave to cover poor game mechanics. Whatever the reason, the $39.99 price point certainly means that Sony is getting desperate to boost the game’s sales after investing so much time into the decade long production.

Interestingly enough, the game will now be the exact same price as the companion hardcover set for release on February 28th, 2017. At a length of 256 pages long, the book will feature art and interviews pertaining to The Last Guardian that will reveal unexpected insights about the game.

Whether it looks appealing or not, a discount is always going to benefit the consumer, especially for a newly released game at 33 percent of the original cost. For more information in regards to The Last Guardian and all of your nerdy news be sure to check back to the site!
