As you may know, to unlock some of the areas in the game, players have to wait and progress to reach them. However, there’s a glitching technique some abuse to reach these locations.

Take an area like The Summit, for example, which only become available after completing a challenge. Cheaters were using the glitch technique to reach this location without getting the required 100% achievement. The only consequence prior to 1.6 was a glitchy screen; nothing much else would happen. Moving forward post the 1.6 update, however, players who use this cheating technique will be punished by none other than Mister Qi.

Mister Qi now has no mercy! After giving you a guilt-trip speech about cheating in Stardew Valley, he’ll send you straight to the hospital. The surgeons will then perform a surgery on you that costs 500 coins. It’s a lose-lose situation from every angle, so we wouldn’t recommend testing it for yourself.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
