Dragon’s Dogma 2: Readvent of Calamity Quest Guide

Back to where it all began.

This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

If there’s one place that can’t catch a break in the whole world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, it is Melve, and you can see that through the Readvent of Calamity quests. After venturing into the wild to start your journey, the main story will recommend you visit this place occasionally. Initially, it might seem like you need to solve a few issues, and that’s it. While that’s true to a degree, there are several quests here, such as this one, that can unlock new vocations, lead you to a new village, and have you find a beloved NPC to ensure her safety.

How To Complete Readvent of Calamity in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Readvent of Calamity is a quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that begins after you reach a certain part of the main story. To start it, you must complete the Seat of the Sovran questline, which is a set of missions assigned to you by Captain Brant. After finishing these tasks, you’ll get the Readvent of Calamity quest, and you must visit Melve to progress.

The best “reward” you get by following this quest is the opportunity to unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation. Once you reach Melve during the Readvent of Calamity quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll have to fight a deformed drake. After beating it, you can speak with Sigurd to unlock the vocation. Unlocking the vocation isn’t an objective of the quest, but we thought it’d be good to mention it, as you can kill two birds with one stone.

Melve’s Leader

By now, you should know Ulrika is in charge of Melve. Yes, since the village is under her protection and a dragon already charred it, that’s why she attacked your griffin during the game’s initial cutscene. Try not to hold a grudge against her. Once you beat the drake, you can sleep for a day and visit Ulrika. You’ll see a noble giving her troubles at her house and trying to scare her to leave her position. Since she doesn’t want to bring more trouble to Melve, she decides to disappear.

After waiting yet another day, Lennart will ask you to find her. If you have a pawn with this quest’s knowledge, they can guide you to the location. If not, you can find her at Harve Village, which, by now, you should have already restored it. Once you reach Harve Village, speak with Ulrika and then return to Lennart back in Melve to inform him about the lady’s location. After doing so, you’ll receive the Ring of Grit, experience, and 4,500 gold.

While the quest ends here, we didn’t explore further to see if Ulrika had any new missions for us at Harve Village. However, it seems Lennart stays in charge of Melve for now. Hopefully, avid explorers might find a way to bring Ulrika back home. Especially since she was nowhere to be found during the game’s true ending, so that’s a bit problematic for those who love this lovely archer.
