One of the symbols of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Beren is also one of the first characters whose sidequests players can tackle in the game. But completing both of his quests is not a must for only those looking to discover more about him and get a closer look at how prejudice still governs the nation of Vermund, as Claw Them Into Shape and Beren’s Final Lesson must be completed if you plan on unlocking the Arc of Might Maister’s Teaching Skill. Here’s how to complete all Beren quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Claw Them Into Shape Guide

You can trigger the Claw Them Into Shape quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 by heading to Beren’s Tent and then talking to him there at any point after leaving the Borderwatch Outpost. The area will be located at the top of a small hill overlooking Moonglow Garden. You can check out it’s exact location on the map below.

Once you start the quest, Beren will ask you to get three swords and a motivated soldier looking to improve. Remember that he can only be found at his camp at night.

How to Get the Tree Swords and Where to Find the Motivated Soldier

You can get the weapons quickly by heading to the armory at Borderwatch Outpost and then purchasing three Trusty Swords for 850 Gold each. To find the motivated soldier, go to Vernwort, more specifically to the area marked on the map below. Once there, a boy named Humphrey will approach the Arisen and ask to be his apprentice. When that happens, simply tell him about Beren.

Now that you completed both tasks, return to Beren and give him the weapons before talking to him again. He will then challenge the Arisen to a duel. As the duel will end once either party steps off the marked area, I recommend that you use either skills or moves capable of pushing targets back โ€”such as the Fighter’s Shield Bash/Pummel and the Warrior’s charged attackโ€” to win it.

Immediately after the duel, a soldier will appear and warn of a goblin attack. To complete the quest, follow Beren to the location of the attack and help him clear out the monsters. Completing the quest will net you 1200 XP and 4500 gold.

After completing Claw Them Into Shape, you will be able to trigger Beren’s Final Lesson by heading to the Moonglow Garden and talking to him there. During the dialogue, he will reveal that he was indeed dismissed, but the moment will be cut short by the arrival of a Cyclops. Given how the outcome of the quest will change slightly depending on whether or not his recruits survive the attack, I recommend that you only attempt it when above level 20. Be sure to also have at least one Mage/Sorcerer in your party.

After defeating the Cyclops, you will be able to complete the quest by talking to Beren at the same spot on the following night. After you speak to him, he will leave for Battahl. Completing Beren’s Final Lesson will net you 1600 XP, 4500 gold, and the Lifetaker Greatsword.

Now that you completed all Beren quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will be able to get the Champion’s Fable containing the Arc of Might Skill by visiting him at Battahl. Once in the region, he can be found in Beren’s Childhood Home. The house is located on the spot marked on the map below and can be reached by simply heading down from Checkpoint Rest Town. Once you reach the house, the former captain will call you and after a brief talk, gift you with the Arc of Might scroll.

Now that you know how to complete all of Beren’s quests, don’t forget to also check out how to romance Ulrika.

You can play Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
