Dragon’s Dogma 2: How To Complete The Arisen’s Shadow

Like playing with the champion of hide-and-seek.

The Arisen’s Shadow can be rather irritating to complete in Dragon’s Dogma 2. I was told by my Pawns someone was following us, but no matter where I looked, no one looked suspicious. It doesn’t appear to be a bugged quest, but it took some effort to snuff him out. Once you know what to look for during The Arisen’s Shadow, capturing the stalker red-handed actually isn’t all that hard.

How to Complete The Arisen’s Shadow Side in DD2

For starters, you need to be in the city of Vernworth. Secondly, the first hint that you’ll get to the stalker’s whereabouts is from your own Pawns. Lastly, it doesn’t matter what time of day you complete The Arisen’s Shadow. I nabbed the stalker during the morning!

Now, you’re looking for a man with a hood, short-sleeved shirt, and two daggers at his waist. So, when you hear your Pawns perk up about someone following, stop where you are and start scanning the area.

He’ll usually be 30 to 40 feet away, either out in the open (doing a poor job of being a stalker), behind stands, or peeking around alleyways. I got really lucky when a Cyclops entered Vernworth. I had spotted my stalker nearby, but the Cyclops’ presence forced him into a fight.

When you see him, run after him and press the grab button when you get close. He isn’t very fast, so you’ll have no problem catching up to him. It’s at that point he’ll attempt to bribe you.

Should You Let Bermudo in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

When you apprehend Bermudo, his bribe sounds enticing and, at first, like the better deal. For completing The Arisen’s Shadow that way, you’ll earn 5000 gold, as opposed to the 4000 gold that Captain Brant gives you.

So, let him go, right? Wrong! Here’s the rub: whether you capture Bermudo or not, you’ll still get a pass to cross the border into Battahl. You’ll get the pass after a few days if you capture Bermudo, but if you let him, you’ll have to get the pass a different way using the Beastran Mask, which costs 8700 gold at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store in Checkpoint Rest Town.

In other words, you lose gold by letting Bermudo go. Do yourself a favor and save yourself both time and gold by capturing your stalker until Captain Brant shows up.
