To survive in Once Human, you’ll need to find several rare materials to help you craft better equipment, such as Tin Ore. This durable reagent is necessary in the early game if you want to craft Tier 2 weapons or better facilities for your base. While things such as wood and gravel are easy to find, finding Tin Ore is a bit trickier. But with the right tools, patience, and keen eyes, you can easily discover this coveted resource in the game.
Tin Ore Locations in Once Human
When exploring, I noticed the best way to farm Tin Ore in Once Human is by heading to the Broken Delta area. It says it is level 12, but you won’t face enemies as long as you stick to the coast. You can use the above image as a reference. Contrary to sulfur or copper deposits, Tin Ore nodes don’t shine and can be distinguished due to their greyish color. If you want to gather it, I recommend crafting a Copper Pickaxe first, as it’ll give you a greater yield of this resource and allow you to gather it.
Using the Curiosity Catcher
One helpful item you can craft in the Supplies Workbench is the Curiosity Catcher. This standard version of this tool marks copper and tin deposits on the map. When you use it, the deposits will be marked with an icon like the one you can see in the above image. There’s a 10-second cooldown to use this tool, so you can’t spam it much. Remember that, while useful, this item marks both deposits with the same icon, meaning you need to head to the node first to discover if it contains copper or tin. Still, it is faster than just roaming around aimlessly.
As I explored the map, I also noticed the Curiosity Catcher doesn’t last as long as other tools. So, remember to bring more than one. As you progress, you’ll see that tin ore is essential for Tier 2 weapons, facilities such as the Refining Facility, Intermediate Supplies Workbench, and more. So, don’t be afraid to take a detour and gather this ore whenever you spot it.
