  • How Does the Wish Machine Work?

The Wish Machine is one of the most enjoyable and fastest ways to earn blueprints for weapons and armor in Once Human. This transplant of “gacha” mechanics in an open-world survival RPG is the first of its kind. In the previous Once Human closed beta tests, you could obtain the Wish Machine right away, but that has changed recently. So, I’ll be the Meta-human at your service, pointing you in the right direction on how to unlock the Wish Machine.

A few months ago, in the previously closed beta test for Once Human, there was a side quest for the Wish Machine called “The Treasure Infinite.” You could even finish that quest right away and grab the Wish Machine as soon as you land on the open world.

Now, in Closed Beta Test 3 or CBT3, that side quest is no longer available. I want to warn some of you about this, as there might still be outdated guides out there. The Wish Machine in Once Human has been integrated into the main quest, but there are stricter requirements this time.

  • There’s a soft requirement where you have to be Level 20 at least.
  • You must also progress the main quest up to the “[Guidance] Concept of materialization.”

You Can Likely Obtain it Earlier

“[Guidance] Concept of materialization” will reward you with the Wish Machine blueprint. However, you don’t exactly need to be level 20 to get it. That’s just the game’s suggestion.

Depending on your skill, you can get the Wish Machine in just a few hours. You will need to go through three boss fights (one of them is a practice boss). Hence, I don’t recommend rushing through the Wish Machine completely solo if you want to grab it earlier.

You might also be able to form a Warband with higher-level players or join a Hive (clan/guild) and perhaps ask higher-level players to carry you through hard quests or areas. Two of the aforementioned three boss fights are multiplayer anyway. The Treant Clone boss is also easy enough to cheese with a sniper rifle.

Thankfully, if you’re already familiar with the Wish Machine from previous Closed Beta Tests, then it’s mostly the same experience. There might be some fresh additions to the reward pool, but you’ll still have to win them the same way, mostly through luck.

You’re going to have to spend your 500 Starchrom per “wish” or attempt on the reward roulette. The rewards are weapon and armor blueprints of varying rarity: Gold (rarest), Purple, and Blue. You can either wish once or through batches of 10. Good luck.
