Starfield Modder Turns The Game’s Boring Outposts Into Gigantic Colonies

Your space colony awaits.

Regardless of what we all think about Starfield, we can all agree about something: it is the perfect space blank canvas. Yes, the game was underwhelming in many aspects. Yes, updates aren’t as frequent as we’d like them to be. But aren’t most Bethesda games like that? The studio provides players with an almost limitless playground for them to go crazy with mods. Thankfully, one of those gamers is TankGirl444, who has made a Colonies mod for Starfield, removing the need for pesky outposts and unnecessary mechanics.

Starfield’s TGs Galactic Colonies Expanse Mods Greatly Improves How Outposts Work

The latest mod you can find on Nexus Mods removes outposts altogether or, rather, turns them into something grander. Of all the systems Starfield brought to play, spaceships and outposts were the most underwhelming ones. While they had a great foundation, they never really stood out or shined as we would’ve liked. However, some dedicated people have made several tweaks to turn one of the game’s most boring aspects into an entirely new experience.

The TGs Galactic Colonies Expanse mod for Starfield allows players to create colonies on several planets. As you can see on the game’s official page, you can create sprawling communities full of people ready to create food, inhabit buildings, and more. This basically turns Bethesda’s latest RPG into a Sims-like installment, which is great for those looking to spice any of their playthroughs.

Furthermore, those who aren’t eager to try the space-farmer life can instead build biodomes and even mechs. You read that right; you can construct a mech to defend your colony. This is, of course, one of Starfield‘s few DLC-sized modifications and one of the best without a doubt. Honestly, while all that sounds great, one of the things we liked is how lore-friendly and immersive this pack is. According to the creator, players will receive income as they develop colonies and will even see ships landing on these places to attract buyers, making it a truly living environment.

Hopefully, this will push the game’s developers to launch the official mod tools faster. While we don’t mind waiting for DLC-sized content made by fans like this one, having official support would make Starfield the game we wanted from scratch. All we can do for now is wait and start our colonies in this gigantic mod for this title.
