BOOM! Studios is helping horror icon RL Stine bring his next YA series to readers. The legendary author of popular series like Goosebumps and Fear Street is heading back to the land of graphic novels with The Graveyard Club. This new series brings Stine together with Spider-Woman artist Carola Borelli to tell a tale about teens, spooky towns, and the supernatural. The story is set within a fictional town and follows a group of teenagers who love to pull pranks. However, those “harmless” gags soon embroil the teens in some supernatural repercussions.

RL Stine’s The Graveyard Club takes place in the fictional town of Graves End. This sleepy town, in classic Stine fashion, is surrounded by cemeteries. While local kids find these cemeteries ripe for some harmless fun, the dead may have something to say about that. This brings us to high schooler Parker West who decides to pull a harmless prank. However, this prank eventually puts his friends in some real danger.

Speaking on the new series, horror master RL Stine gave the scoop on this spooky town. He revealed that the teens are hanging in the graveyard because it may be the safest place in town. Not only is Graves End filled with cemeteries, but every night red-eyed bats swoop around every night. Of course, this is just the beginning of the horrors that the author has in store for readers.

Of course, RL Stine is no stranger to horror. The legendary author is one of the best-selling children’s authors in history. This is thanks largely in part to his Goosebumps series. This spooky children’s series has sold more than 400 million books worldwide and has been printed in over 30 languages. He is also known for his Fear Street series, which was geared towards a slightly more young adult audience than the Goosebumps series.

For The Graveyard Club, the VP of Editorial and Creative Strategy at BOOM! Bryce Carlson shared how fun working with the horror master is. This fresh YA series is sure to be another hit for the author. Alongside Carola’s incredible art, Carlson feels the series may leave readers hiding under the covers as they follow the journey of Graves End.

The Graveyard Club #1 is available in comic shops on 09/18 and in bookstores on 09/17.
