How To Make Ale in Manor Lords

Producing goods is an important mechanic in this medieval-themed city-building game from developer Slavic Magic. You need to fulfill the needs of your villagers in order to construct more buildings and expand your town. Manufacturing commodities can also bring revenue as Trading Post allows you to trade with other regions. One such item you can make in Manor Lords is Ale, the cause of and the solution to all of life’s problems.

Manor Lords: How Can You Make Ale?

Basically, you will need a Farmhouse, a Malthouse, and a Level 2 Burgage Plot or house along with the Brewery Extension to start producing Ale.

First, the Farmhouse is necessary for growing the base ingredients of Ale in Manor Lords, which come from Barley. Build the Farmhouse and Farm using three Timber and make sure to find a plot with a high fertility rate to boost the Barley production. You will need to assign at least three families to plow the field and remember to turn on Crop Rotation with the Follow option selected.

Once the Barley planting starts rolling, don’t forget to build a Malthouse with four Timbers somewhere nearby. Open the Industry tab of the Build menu to find it. This allows the assigned villagers to turn the harvested plant into Malt.

With the Malt stock piling up, now’s the time to build the Brewery to, you guessed it, make the brews. Brewery is made through the Brewery Extension option from a Level 2 Burgage Plot and costs five Planks as well as five Regional Wealth. Press the hammer icon when clicking on one to find the Extension option for the Ale processing building in Manor Lords. There are two things that you should remember when building or upgrading a Burgage Plot:

1. Try making them near the places of material production and consumption. This will make transporting them from one place to the other faster.
2. Always look for wide spaces when building Burgage Plots for industrial purposes. As Extension upgrades will eat more space, you won’t be able to turn smaller Level 1 plots into Level 2.
