Kate Hudson has enjoyed a successful career as an actress but sheโs a multi-talented individual. So, when she decided to branch out and try becoming a musician, the decision was met with surprise. While she has received support from many fans, she is also no stranger to criticism. But there is one comment that really bugs her, and thatโs when people tell her sheโs too old to try something new, and she has a pretty brutal response to anyone who dares utter these words.
Kate Hudsonโs Not Too Old For Her Music Career
Kate Hudson didnโt wake up one morning and decide to pursue a music career. It has been something she has been thinking about for a long time, but she was reluctant to sing because of her father, Bill Hudson (he was part of the ’70s band The Hudson Brothers). In an earlier interview, she spoke about daddy issues.
โBut later on I kind of rejected [music] because I was like, ‘You know what? ‘ โ As you do when you’re dealing with daddy issues โ ‘I don’t want to connect to that part because that’s my dad. That’s all dad,โ she said on the Table for Two podcast (via The Independent).
Now that she has the courage to do what she wants to do, she doesnโt care what others say about it. โThere was someone who said to me โ and it kind of jarred me a little โ it was when I was in my early 30s, and they basically said, โItโs done, itโs passed. You canโt, youโre too old,โโ she said in a recent interview with CBSโ Sunday Morning. โAnd you know, for me, it wasnโt just about being a performer, it was about wanting to write music. And then I was like, ‘Eh, **** you,'” she said. “No, no one tells me what to do!”
In the same interview, Hudson also admitted to writing songs for as long as she can remember. “Really poorly, my whole life! I guess I wasn’t ready for it until now,โ she confessed.
For those interested, Kate Hudsonโs music career is really taking off. She plans to release an album titled Glorious and will play the album release show on May 18, 2024.
