Vault-Tec wasn’t the only organization selling the “dream” to the unsuspecting masses in the Fallout universe. Pulowski Preservation Services jumped on the panic too, promoting their one-person protective shelters guaranteed to keep you just as safe as if you were in a Vault. Right? If it’s so useful, that begs the question: why haven’t Fallout Shelter Dwellers stumbled upon a Pulowski Preservation Shelter?

Created by the pre-war company Pulwoski Preservation Services, their infamous shelters had one goal in mind. They wanted to make something more affordable for the everyday person who didn’t luck out to end up in a Vault. Just how lucky those people were is debatable and downright wrong in many cases, of course, but what about these one-man shelters?

They stand tall like metal pods, and their intended purpose was to protect someone from radiation. Not the explosion itself, but of the aftermath if you survived the initial blast. It would make sense that if you send Dwellers out to explore the Wasteland in Fallout Shelter they can encounter and dip into a Pulowski Preservation Shelter. Seems too good to be true, right?

Is the Pulowski Preservation Shelter in Fallout Shelter?

Unfortunately, Fallout Shelter never had a Pulowski Preservation Shelter. Dwellers can explore the Wasteland as long as you like, but they’ll never encounter one of these. Of course, it would be nice if they could dip into one in case they encounter bad radiation levels. You’ll just have to rely on having enough RadAway to keep your Dwellers safe instead.

You can encounter these Preservation Shelters in the following:

  • Fallout 3
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76

If you’ve enjoyed any of these, then you more than likely stumbled upon a few Pulowski Preservation Shelters. Some of them were mandatory to explore as they held quest starters. Some of the others contained loot. But most of them held nothing but the skeletons of those who thought they were safe.

In Fallout, the Pulowski Preservation Shelters didn’t live up to the hype. In fact, it seemed as though the company wanted a quick cash grab before the Great War hit a high point. Finding skeletons inside is proof enough that things failed. This could be attributed to the fact that people started using them for other things like holding “slaves” and whatnot.

The strongest sign that these Preservation Shelters were nothing but smoke and mirrors is the fact that you can find Ghouls inside. These metal pods meant to protect against radiation exposure turned into either coffins or radiation-filled prisons. So, perhaps you were better off making it into one of the Vaults. That is, if you managed to get into one of the good ones and not something like Vault 11.

Although it doesn’t have this death trap, you can still enjoy everything else in the free-to-play Fallout Shelter on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices.
