Medics are a crucial part of any successful military campaign. So it’s no surprise when Gray Zone Warfare sends you to a clinic as one of the game’s earliest quests. Gray Zone Warfare borrows more than realistic bullet physics and gritty shootouts from Escape from Tarkov: it also shares a fondness for fetch quests like this one. Getting through town without dying to enemy forces is already a challenge, and the search for a doctor’s locked-away diary only makes things harder. Manage it and you’ll be a bit closer to earning Gunny’s respect. Here’s how to complete Medical Detective in Gray Zone Warfare.
Gray Zone Warfare Medical Detective Guide
After receiving the Medical Detective quest from Gunny, you’re free to begin your search of the starting town. While grinding quests for the game’s various factions you may have already encountered the town clinic, but you can’t get in yet. For that, you’ll need a key. Every faction needs some variation of the Doctor’s Office Key, but the one you need will include the name of the town you started in (for example, the Nam Thaven Doctor’s Office Key). Here’s what you need to do to proceed:
- Kill AI enemies and loot their bodies for the key
- Travel to the doctor’s office and use the key to unlock it
- Enter the office and grab the Doctor’s Diary off the table
- Return to Gunny with the diary to complete the quest
Although the medical office appears in a different location in every town, it’s easy to spot thanks to the large medical sign on its roof. As for finding an enemy with the key, there’s no real trick to it. You’ll simply have to kill enemies until you find one that happens to be carrying it. Medical Detective is one of the trickiest starting quests in Gray Zone Warfare due to these unique requirements. Killing in the name of medicine might be a violation of the Hippocratic Oath, but all’s fair in the gray zone. At least, that’s what Mithras, Lamang, and Crimson say.
Gray Zone Warfare is available on PC in early access.
