Travis Kelce and his older brother Jason are known for being football guys. Both have had amazing careers in the NFL and are Super Bowl champs. However, they are also known for their popular podcast, New Heights. On a recent episode of the podcast, they flirted with the idea of moving the Super Bowl to the weekend of President’s Day. That way, fans can stay up and watch the game and not have to worry about going to work the next day!
According to The Daily Mail, the NFL could adopt an 18-game schedule. That would move the Super Bowl a week later to President’s Day weekend. Although Jason Kelce won’t be playing through those possible changes, he believes he and his brother Travis were ahead of the curve.
Travis and Jason Kelce Love the Idea
“The best part of this is that the Super Bowl’s getting moved to President’s Day,” Jason said of Goodell’s idea. “Which, we talked about it before. I think we actually made this happen. I don’t think the NFL had this on their eyesight at all. We talked about putting the Super Bowl on a three-day weekend way before this ever got released. So “New Heights” – you can thank us for being able to celebrate Super Bowl weekend on a three-day weekend.”
As of right now, this is just a proposal, although it makes a lot of sense. The NFL is seriously contemplating this schedule change, and most fans are on board with the idea. NFL fans already don’t care for the preseason, so getting rid of one of those games and adding a game that actually matters would be a big step in the right direction.
It will be very interesting to see what will happen. However, for now, fans will just have to wait and see. Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are already on board. Travis might even be playing in that newly scheduled Super Bowl.
