Bethesda’s Todd Howard recently revealed that the studio has three large games currently in the works outside of already announced products. In an interview with Glixel.com, the executive producer specified that the projects would two “classically Bethesda” games and a new mobile game.

Though he was hesitant to share too many details, the little that Howard did reveal is still enough to begin speculation on just what they could be. While Bethesda and company have a slew of successful titles under their belt, they are best known for the Skyrim and Fallout series.

Will we see a sequel to Fallout Shelter, or will it inspire something similar for another product

It should be interesting to see if the mobile project has any correlation to either of the two classically Bethesda games, as the company found success in the past in that market with Fallout Shelter releasing right before Fallout 4. If that were the case, another addition to the wasteland mobile series – and consequently a console game – seems far more likely than adding a companion app to an Elder Scrolls game.

While it makes seem less likely, Elder Scrolls should certainly strike while the iron is hot, as the series has managed to make a major rebound after the disappointing release and sales of Elder Scrolls Online. With the release of the remaster finding huge success last year, and the Nintendo Switch port upcoming, it would make sense that the next installment would be in the works.

It’s been six years since we’ve seen a true installment in the Elder Scrolls saga, with plenty of DLC, spin-offs, and remakes

Math dictates that it could be both, though, so don’t rule anything out. There’s also the possibility that every single project that is being developed is an original IP, but it far to unimagined for a studio like Bethesda who loves it’s franchised like they were its children.
