Sega has just revealed its new upcoming online Sonic game, Sonic Rumble. It was leaked last month as “Sonic Toys Party” but has now gotten an official name. Sonic Rumble is a mobile-only title for now, and it will be available on both iOS and Android and will be co-developed with Rovio, the company that is behind popular mobile games like Angry Birds and was acquired by Sega.
Sonic Rumble comes out sometime in winter 2024 and will let 32 players duke it out against each other while taking control of different characters from the Sonic universe. You’ll be partaking in a toy world made by Dr Eggman, of course, and will be playing as toy versions of recognizable Sonic characters in a battle royale mode less like PUBG, and more like Fall Guys. The one who collects the most rings and is the fastest through the obstacles will be the winner.

Players will be able to unlock and customize characters as they spend time in the game. This will let people make their characters unique, and hopefully won’t result in 32 Shadows competing against each other.
If you want to be the fastest one to get your hands on Sonic Rumble, you can sign up for the closed beta that will start later this month. You can register until May 19, and the closed beta will take place from May 24 to 26.
Although we don’t know all the characters that will be available in Sonic Rumble, the trailer shows off Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Eggman, Rouge, Metal Sonic, and of course, Eggman himself. But every character will start to look different from the rest once cosmetic items such as hats, masks, and costumes are added to the mix.
Sonic Rumble will come out sometime during the winter of 2024 on both iOS and Android.
