With nearly 40 unique Fruits in Roblox Blox Fruits, it isn’t surprising many get overshadowed or simply overlooked. Maybe they aren’t easy to play, have a high skill ceiling, or just get replaced by fruit that do it better. Smoke Fruit, being essentially a weaker version of Blizzard Fruit, comes to mind. Whatever the reason is, there are a handful of Devil Fruits that are underrated in Blox Fruits and need a second chance.
Spider Fruit
You’d think a Devil Fruit that more or less turns you into Spider-Man wouldn’t be underrated, but that’s the way the cards fell for the Spider Fruit. Its damage should place it among the best of the best, but its mechanics hold it back. Having to aim for most of your abilities means the Spider Fruit filters out most players.
If you can overcome the skill issues, Spider Fruit is quite a formidable fruit, especially on the receiving end of it. You’ve got great damage across the board, four stuns (when Awakened), and three abilities that break Instinct, which is particularly useful in PVP since your average player will almost always have Instinct.
Phoenix Fruit
With players always rushing towards the next best thing, it’s no surprise Phoenix Fruit is one of the most underrated fruits in Blox Fruits. It gets a bad rap because its primary function is to heal and support as opposed to dealing insane damage. That’s the beauty of the Phoenix Fruit, though. You don’t have to deal outrageous damage because you’ll simply outlive your opponent from all the healing.
Despite its support abilities, the Phoenix Fruit can be used in an offensive manner, quite effectively, I might add. The combined damage reduction, healing from Regeneration Flames (and Blue Flames), and spammable attacks lets you play aggressively. It gets bonus points for pairing nicely with gun and sword builds, too, after you’ve Awakened it.
Shadow Fruit
The Shadow Fruit is in the same boat as the Spider Fruit. Its damage is exceptional, but only in the right hands. You have to have a knack for fighting games because the Shadow Fruit’s entire moveset is all about combos. If you love the fighting game genre, I urge you to give it a second look.
There is one thing to keep in mind, though: the Shadow Fruit’s abilities are slower. If you can’t get used to it, you’ll whiff your abilities, which means your combos won’t be as effective. Another plus is the Shadow Fruit, which is one of the five cheapest Mythical Fruits in Blox Fruits, so it’s relatively easy to obtain.
Control Fruit
Speaking of Devil Fruits with high-skill ceilings, there’s the Control Fruit. Great damage, stuns baked into almost every move, and it pairs beautifully with sword and gun builds. The Control Fruit is the kind of fruit everyone wants in Blox Fruits, but it has a catch: the moves are completely useless outside of the Control Area.
What you do is create a zone using the Control Area ability and only within that area can you use your other abilities. If it weren’t for that limitation, the Control Fruit would be one of the best Devil Fruits in Blox Fruits—it’s that good. You can combo pretty easily with Teleport, be immune to damage using Gamma Rush, and zone your target using Levitate. Sadly, your opponent could also just leave the area, so it’s best to pair the Control Fruit with swords, guns, or other Fruits.
Sound Fruit
The Sound Fruit is a bit of an oddball in Blox Fruits and is what I like to call an “assassin” fruit. Basically, its visual effects don’t match up with the damage it does. So, when you’re on the receiving end of a Sound Fruit, you’re completely thrown off and before you know it you’re dead. There’s also an obvious skill ceiling, which is partly the reason as to why you may not see it very often.
Out of all the Devil Fruits in Blox Fruits, the Sound Fruit is one of the few that has a meter attached to its abilities, the Tempo Meter. For your abilities to be as effective as possible, you need to balance dealing damage and regenerating your Tempo Meter with Prestissimo. If you can learn how to juggle your resource, you’ll have a lot of fun with the Sound Fruit.
