  • How to Make Your Horse Faster in V Rising

The Wolf Form is pretty good for getting around in V Rising, but not quite as good as a horse. Even the weakest horses are faster, for that matter. While your Wolf Form offers a static increase to movement speed, horses have a handful of stats that can drastically change how one horse feels from another. Unfortunately, a horseโ€™s stats are randomly generated in V Rising, and itโ€™s entirely likely youโ€™ll get the best stats in one area but the worst in another.

V Rising: All Horse Stats Explained

Every horse you come across has three stats: max speed, acceleration, and rotation speed. Each stat is randomized, so youโ€™re just as likely to find horses with good stats in the early game as you are in the end-game. Itโ€™s simply the luck of the draw, but there is a way to make your horse faster, which weโ€™ll get to shortly.

Max Speed

Pretty self-explanatory: max speed is nothing more than the top speed of your horse. This stat can range between 8.0 and 11.0, with 11.0 being the best. For comparison, your running speed and Wolf Form have a value of 4.0 and 6.4, respectively. That means even the slowest horse will still be faster than running and Doggo Form.

Acceleration

Not to be confused with max speed, the acceleration stat of your horse determines how quickly your horse in V Rising will reach its max speed. The higher the stat, the less time it takes to reach top speed. This stat can range anywhere between 3.0 and 7.0, with 7.0 being the best.

Rotation Speed

And then thereโ€™s rotation speed, which directly affects how quickly your horse turns. The lower your horseโ€™s rotation speed is, the more itโ€™ll feel like youโ€™re steering a boat rather than a horse. Personally, I put rotation speed at the top of my list; it makes turning so much easier. This stat can range between 12.0 and 14.0, with 14.0 being the best.

Now, the good news is that even if you get the worst horse in V Rising, you can mitigate its terrible stats with a saddle. However, a saddle only affects max speed and acceleration, so it wonโ€™t do anything for rotation speed. To unlock a saddle, you have to first:

  • Raise your Castle Heart to level 4.
  • Locate a trusty steed and dominate it (using the Dominate Horse ability).
  • Craft a Vampire Horse Saddle.

The only step you really need to focus on is raising your Castle Heart to level 4. Everything else will fall into place after youโ€™ve dominated a horse. In fact, dominating your first horse will unlock the blueprint to craft a Vampire Horse Saddle.
