Joining stars including co-chairs Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez, plus Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, and Emily Ratajkowski in New York City last Monday, Demi dazzled in a crystal-studded silver gown as she rocked custom Prabal Gurung. Despite looking sensational as she highlighted her healthy figure, the 31-year-old wound up shamed for her weight. Such remarks manifested in comments left to both Just Jared and The Daily Mail.

Putting on a show-stopping display in her floor-length, train gown, Demi went strapless and with a low neckline as she honored this year’s Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion theme and its Garden of Time dress code.
Flashing both some cleavage and her arm tattoos as she donned her glamorous gown with flower placements honoring the dress code, the former Disney star wowed in a statement diamond necklace as she wore her dark hair down and kept glam with heavy makeup complete with a glossy lip.

Instagram images posted by Just Jared came captioned: “Demi Lovato shimmers in Prabal Gurung at the 2024 Met Gala celebrating “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. Here, a user wrote: “Only Demi not taking Ozempic” as they gained over 50 likes.
Fortunately for Demi, a fan noting the mention of the weight loss drug that’s sweeping Hollywood promptly called them a “troll.”
Over on The Daily Mail, remarks also referenced the singer’s shape. “That dress was not made for her makes her look short and stubby,” one user replied. Suggesting that the star has gained weight, another wrote: “Looks like she’s been hitting the non-vegan ice cream….”
Demi has openly and bravely documented her eating disorder battles alongside her substance abuse ones. The star began binge eating aged just eight and was purging before she was a teenager. Noting that recovery is a journey, the “Confident” hitmaker spoke out in 2021, telling Women’s Health: “I don’t want to give it the power that it controls my every thought but it’s something that I’m constantly thinking about.”
Over on Demi’s Instagram, the response was more positive as her Met Gala dress post gained over 900,000 likes. A like was also left by fiance Jutes.
