Anime News Network has recently reported that The Avengers will be getting an anime show. They’ll be called the Marvel Future Avengers, and they’ll be targeted towards a younger, male demographic. The show will center around a group of young individuals with powers. They are expected to be the future of The Avengers (hence their name). Apparently, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Wasp, and Captain America will be the ones in charge of these teens’ growth as the show progresses.
The new anime show will air on Japanese television before it will hit TVs in the USA. A manga series will also be released in Japan around the same time as the show. There’s no set release date for the show yet, but one can expect it to be on screens by the end of the year or next year at the latest. This assumption raises the question: Will the show come to the USA?
It’s likely that this will be the case, as previous superhero animes were released in America after their release in Japan. For example, the Iron Man, Wolverine, X-Men, and Blade anime shows all came to the states (aired on G4) about a year after they came out in Japan. The fact that these anime shows made it to the USA makes it likely that the Marvel Future Avengers anime will too. I just don’t know when. But, as an American watching anime, I’m used to long waits when it comes to bringing these shows to America.
Attack on Titan, an anime show based on its respective manga, has been struggling to get its second season released. It has been almost 3 years since the release of the first season. The reason for this wait has been speculated to be due to the manga getting caught up. Only recently did creators and developers announce that the second season will be released in April of this year in Japan. After a variety of projects, ranging from recap anime movies to two live-action films, the show is finally back on track. This is good news, but when will it subbed and dubbed to make its way to the USA?
It takes time for a foreign show to make its way to American televisions. The reason it took abnormally long for Attack on Titan to get a season 2 release date was due to factors having to do with its source material. I’m sure Marvel Future Avengers will be made along a similar timeline as its previous anime superhero titles, and we’ll see it hit American TV about a year after its release in Japan.
