It’s been almost a week since Diddy’s apology video emerged, and the reactions to the clip have been numerous. Recently, Natania Reuben joined the long list of people to share their thoughts on the video. Recall that in the early 2000s, Reuben claimed Diddy shot her in the face in the infamous 1999 New York City club shooting involving the rapper Jennifer Lopez and Rapper Shyne Barrow. During a recent chat, she revealed Diddy’s apology video was of no use to her. Meanwhile, the Natania Reuben and Diddy 1999 case may be reopened as the woman said she’s willing to go to extra lengths to prove Diddy shot her.
Natania Reuben is letting the world know that Diddy’s apology video means nothing to her. In an interview with NewsNation’s Brian Entin, the woman said the rapper’s apology was insincere, disgusting, and of zero value to her.
“It has zero value to me. First and foremost, it is the classic scripted publicist apology. ‘I take accountability.” She added, “I was disgusted. I went to rehab.’ I mean, how many times have we heard this narrative through the annals of time?”
Secondly, Reuben noted that Diddy’s apology video carried no weight. According to her, it was useless as the rapper never directly apologized to Cassie.
“It was all about him. ‘I’m disgusted,’ ‘I hit a hard time.’ It was all about him,” Reuben shared.
Inside the Reuben and Diddy Case
Natania Reuben and Diddy’s history dates back to the 1999 shooting which occurred outside of a nightclub in New York City. The gunfire erupted after a dispute between the rapper, his entourage, and a Brooklyn drug dealer named Matthew Allen. Unfortunately, the shooting left Reuben a victim, with a nine-millimeter bullet in her nose. Although those involved were arrested, Diddy was later acquitted on weapons charges. Meanwhile, Barrow, a member of the rapper’s crew, admitted to firing the weapon that night.
Reuben had to battle seizures and fight for her life as parts of the bullets remained lodged in her face. Although Barrow was convicted of the crime, Reuben claimed it was Diddy who shot her in the face. According to her, she was facing them when they pulled out the guns and saw Diddy shoot her in the face. Over two decades later, Reuben is still fighting for justice. In March 2024, Reuben told Entin on NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports that she wanted part of the bullet in her face removed, ballistic evidence, as she wanted the case reopened. Still, Reuben said she’s afraid of meeting an untimely demise.
