The Special Program of Genshin Impact 4.7 kicked in but didn’t do it alone. During the live show, there were also previews of Natlan, an animated short with the twins, and a glimpse of a mission with Dainsleif. As usual, these Genshin Impact videos leave us with more questions than answers; this time, they talk again about The Loom of Fate. However, Dainsleif’s annual return only means a gigantic bombshell for the Teyvat lore is about to arrive. Little is known about The Loom of Fate for now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give you a bit of context for the new Archon mission.
Genshin Impact: The Loom of Fate, A Crucial Object and Operation
This concept has appeared several times in the game, and even before the beginning of our adventure. It is in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail, where the name The Loom appears for the first time when Dainsleif introduces each nation. But we must travel back in time to explain the related events because it all began 500 years ago when Celestia destroyed Khaenri’ah. This is when the surviving citizens end up with Celestia’s curse, making them immortal and becoming Hilichurls. Here, Chlothar Alberich encounters the Sinner while searching for a cure for his son, Caribert. Desperate, Chlothar imbues Caribert with the power of the Sinner, the Abyssal power, which turns him into The Loom of Fate.
The Loom of Fate mainly refers to the fact that Caribert, with the Abyssal power, can control his fate, which equals erasing his curse. Being Caribert the only one capable of such a feat, Chlothar founded The Abyss Order to defeat Celestia and cure the other descendants of Khaenri’ah. As the Abyssal power was insufficient, the Order began to create a mechanism, or as others say, a false god. In the beginning, they would use the eye of the first Field Tiller into the Defiled Statue to maximize the energy, but Dvalin and Osial would be the core.
However, the other twin always stopped The Abyss Order’s plans, so Caribert himself could be the vessel of power. Similar to how Scaramouche used Gnosis to become a god. Although the players have prevented advances in this operation, The Abyss Order is still looking for a way to complete their machinery. Remember that the other twin leads the Loom of Fate operation to eliminate the Heavenly Principles at the end of Genshin Impact. Or at least, that’s what we think. With so much lore still to be revealed, all we can do is hope that the lands of Natlan give us some closure for The Loom of Fate or a few more tidbits to know what the true endgame is.
