Since the free Into the Light update in Destiny 2, we’ve had access to the BRAVE Arsenal weapons, and while some of them are kind of just mediocre, some of them are pretty useful in your loadouts. Some of the BRAVE Arsenal weapons have been around for quite a while and just got a makeover, but some of them are returning weapons that we didn’t know we still needed, and the range of utility and usefulness varies pretty drastically. That said, let’s take a look at all the best and worst BRAVE weapons.
12. Hung Jury SR4
First of all, Hung Jury shouldn’t even be on this list. This is, what, the fourth time we’ve gotten it back now and it’s really not even that great now compared to previous versions. Hung Jury deserves the last place position here. Even with Explosive Payload and Kinetic Tremors, it’s a bit of a disappointment.
11. The Recluse
In my opinion, SMGs are all copy-paste situations. It’s hard to find a Submachine Gun that’s unique enough to make it worth having if it isn’t extremely overpowered and in this case, it isn’t. Though with perks like Dynamic Sway Reduction and Frenzy, it’s a bit better.
10. Forbearance
Forbearance is okay, don’t get me wrong. It’s got some decent perks like Demolitionist and Chain Reaction, some great God Rolls, and a whole lot of damage possibilities, but it’s just not the best. If the perks on Forbearance didn’t scale to your abilities, then yeah, it might be higher on this list, but for now, nope.
9. Succession
Succession is a pretty solid Kinetic Sniper Rifle, there’s no doubt about that. However, given the fact that Succession has been craftable in the past with the Reconstruction and Recombination perks, it’s difficult to have any need to farm the newer version of the weapon.
8. Elsie’s Rifle
Elsie’s Rifle, which you probably remember as the Stranger’s Rifle, is pretty different than its predecessor, but is still rather useful. The perk combinations on Elsie’s Rifle make for a great DPS Pulse Rifle, and now deals Void Damage rather than Kinetic. Pair up that damage with Headseeker and Zen Moment, and you’ve got a pretty good Pulse Rifle.
7. Hammerhead
Hammerhead was pretty strong before, but the BRAVE Arsenal version has some pretty wild base stats, loads of aim assist, and perk combinations like Rampage and Killing Tally. Hammerhead is one of the better BRAVE weapons to use against Champions, bosses, and stronger enemies.
6. Falling Guillotine
While the Falling Guillotine is an all-around great Sword, there are some key factors that are keeping it from being much higher on this list. The perk pool is one of the best out of all the BRAVE weapons, containing Vorpal Weapon and Eager Edge, but it’s just not what it would have been in the past. Not to mention, Ammo economy for this thing is much worse than it should be.
5. Midnight Coup
Midnight Coup has a pretty strong reputation as being one of Destiny 2‘s best Hand Cannons. Now that it’s back with even better perk combinations, it’s hard to top with even some of the current best Hand Cannons. For this one, you definitely want a combination of Explosive Payload or Moving Target and Zen Moment or Opening Shot.
4. Blast Furnace
Blast Furnace has always been a beast of a Pulse Rifle. The fact that it has Kinetic Tremors alone is pretty out of this world. Using that with Frenzy or One for All maximizes DPS, and allows you to proc your tremors in a single shot. Alternatively, Kinetic Measures pairs quite well with Desperate Measures.
3. Luna’s Howl
Luna’s Howl features low recoil, which is always great in a Hand Cannon, and much higher Airborne Effectiveness compared to its previous versions. That said, Luna’s Howl can make for a mean PvP Hand Cannon with perks like Magnificent Howl or Precision Instrument, as well as the combination of Heal Clip and Incandescent for PvE.
2. The Mountaintop
If you remember Mountaintop from before, then you probably know just how lethal it really was back then. While Mountaintop has been nerfed quite a bit, it doesn’t keep it from being one of the best BRAVE Arsenal weapons available. Its Origin Trait has been overhauled to include the Micro-Missile perk and allows you to have extra space for other traits like Auto-Loading Holster and Recombination.
1. Edge Transit
It’s no surprise that Edge Transit is at the top of the list here. When it comes to Heavy Grenade Launchers, Edge Transit makes it to the top of the list, along with Cataphract GL3, which is considerably harder to get your hands on. Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch on Edge Transit allows you to fire extra grenades without the slow process of reloading, which gives you more DPS opportunities with your increase damage from Bait and Switch.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.
