X-Men: Magik Joins The Fight In Blood Hunt Tie-In

In the name of Mother Russia!

Marvel unveiled a first look at X-Men: Blood Hunt – Magik #1, showing the young Rasputin defending her homeland. As Marvel’s Blood Hunt event ramps up, more and more heroes are joining the fray. Now it is Illyana’s turn to dust a vampire or two. Ashley Allen and Jesus Hervas’ tie-in series takes Magik back to Russia for some soul-searching after the end of Krakoa. However, she finds more than she bargained for when she uncovers a vampire army invading her homeland.

While Magik may be used to surviving the demons of hell (and within), taking on a horde of vampires is a new experience. And it is one that the mutant sorceress will need to muster all her strength and resolve to survive. If she fails, then Russia transforms into the vampire army’s own personal playground. Thankfully, Magik isn’t alone in this task as she calls upon her trusty Soulsword to behead a vampire or two.

Marvel unveiled the cover art, as well as four preview pages for the interior art of this tie-in one-shot. Rod Reis’ cover for X-Men: Blood Hunt – Magik #1 depicts the titular mutant wielding her trusty weapon. As vampire faces loom in the background, Magik is adorned in glowing gold armor and bathed in a bright light. Meanwhile, Jesus Hervas’ preview pages put the mutant in action as a group of vampires begin hunting a family at night. Thankfully, Magik is there to easily slice through the vamps and save the day.

Summer Of Vampires And X-Men

Marvel’s Blood Hunt event is taking over the summer and bringing the undead out to play. The event finds the Marvel Universe blanketed in eternal darkness as hordes of vampires emerge from the shadows. Now, a full-on war is raging on as many of Marvel’s biggest heroes are dragged into the fray. Several tie-in series and one-shots bring the bloodsuckers to heroes like Black Panther, Strange Academy, Union Jack, and more.

Meanwhile, the X-Men are having an eventful summer without any fangs. The end of Krakoa, which pushes Magik back to Russia, is upon us, and something new is coming. This summer will see an overhaul of the X-Men, focusing on a post-Krakoan world.

X-Men: Blood Hunt – Magik #1 is on sale 06/26.
