Things are getting worse for Sean Kingston. Authorities have hit the Jamaican rapper with ten criminal charges following his arrest days ago. Kingston first made headlines after law enforcement officers raided his Florida home. His mother, who was at home during the incident, was taken into custody for being involved in theft and fraud cases. Now, it seems the Beautiful Girls singer was the ringleader of an organized fraudulent scheme.
Kingston, currently being held in San Bernardino County jail, was accused of fraudulently acquiring goods worth almost $1 million. Per the arrest warrant, Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, participated in an organized scheme to defraud several companies to fund their wealthy lifestyle. Per TMZ, the rapper and his mom allegedly scammed a car dealership for a Cadillac Escalade worth $159,701.49. Another of their crimes includes ripping a jewelry company of $480,000.
Kingston also faces a grand theft charge for a custom bed worth $86,568.33. Other charges include writing bad checks and defrauding banks. In addition, the 34-year-old violated his probation for trafficking stolen property. While Kingston is facing 10 charges, his mother was hit with eight. Her charges include grand theft, identity theft, and conducting an organized scheme to defraud.
Sean Kingston Waiting For Extradition To Florida
Kingston still remains behind bars awaiting extradition to Florida. His extradition hearing is set for Tuesday in a San Bernardino court. His mother, however, was released on bail on Sunday afternoon. She posted a $160,000 bond for her release. Several strict conditions were set for the matriarch’s release.
Kingston and his mother became the subject of an investigation by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office after the artist was sued in February. A company named Ver Ver Entertainment accused him of failing to pay $150,000 for the sale and installation of a 232-inch TV. The expensive entertainment system was among the many items taken from Kingston’s home during the raid.
