While Diablo 4 Season 4 or Loot Reborn might have made early-game to mid-game easier, you’ll find plenty of challenges ahead once you’ve reached the endgame. Diablo 4 Season 4 has added Tormented bosses this time around, and some of them stand taller at a whopping level 200. If you want to take them on, you’re going to need a couple of Stygian Stone currencies– per attempt. You need dozens of them. So start stocking them up with my help; here’s how to get Stygian Stone in Diablo 4.

Where To Get Stygian Stone in Diablo 4 Season 4

For the record, there are two known places where you can get Stygian Stone. Even the Stygian Stone tooltip in the Consumables UI in your Inventory will tell you where.

Those two places would be none other than:

  • The Pit (completion reward chest)
  • World Tier 4 World Bosses

However, it’s not as simple as waltzing into those activities and expecting to be showered with Stygian Stones. Drop rates can be brutal.

In my experience, I started farming World Tier 4 World Bosses and The Pit (up to Tier 40) consistently at Level 70+. Now that I’ve reached Level 100, guess how many Stygian Stones I got from repeatedly farming those two activities? One. Just one. It dropped from a World Boss just as I was losing hope.

So how and where you get Stygian Stones is highly dependent on luck. I do imagine that running higher tiers of The Pit will increase my chances. I recommend simply grinding The Pit if you want Stygian Stones since World Bosses are not a consistent source since they run on timers.

Alternate & Faster Way of Getting Stygian Stones

Luckily, there’s a third way of getting Stygian Stones that isn’t dependent on luck and RNG: trading. You just need either hundreds of millions of gold or hundreds of millions of gold worth of uniques and greater affix legendaries.

Players can actually trade Stygian Stones between themselves or depending on the agreed-upon price.

Price will probably fluctuate over time, but at the moment, one Stygian Stone seems to run for around 10 million gold which is somewhat manageable. You can earn that amount of gold after opening 3-4 Tree of Whisper caches.

You need around two Stygian Stones per Tormented Boss attempt, so that comes down to 20 million gold per Tormented Boss run, regardless of whether you’re successful or not.

You can also put up a buy order for Stygian Stones and it appears at the time of writing, that the buy orders for them are at around 6-9 million gold. I imagine people will sell them to you more readily if you’re willing to pay more gold. Good luck and give ’em Hell.

Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
