Dynamite Comics is bringing Darkwing Duck back with a new comics collection. Through a new Kickstarter campaign, the publisher is offering fans the chance to reserve this new collection. It will come in the form of a graphic novel that spans multiple eras of the Darkwing Duck series. This includes stories that have long been out of print. The compilation is available in three omnibus-sized collections. Each book will be available in multiple versions with corresponding price variations.

Darkwing Duck debuted back in 1991 and aired 91 episodes over its two-year life. The series was critically acclaimed and soon developed a die-hard following. Now, Dynamite Comics is bringing the Duck out of retirement. The Kickstarter campaign, which is live right now, has surpassed its goal of $25,000. In fact, at the time of this writing, it was already up to 980 backers with over $150,000 pledged. Clearly, there is a market for more Darkwing Duck adventures.

Those who back the project have the option to obtain exclusive editions of the three graphic novels. These editions of the Darkwing Duck collection are only available through Kickstarter and will not be available through other outlets. Paperback and hardcover editions of the graphic novels are available alongside a special hardcover edition signed by artists that worked on the collection.

The Definitive Darkwing Duck Collection

The three volumes offered by Dynamite Comics bring together different Darkwing Duckadventures to fans. The “Darkly Dawns the Duck” novel collects the 4-issue Walt Disney Productions series from 1991. It also includes Disney Comics’ Darkwing Duck/Marvel’s Disney Afternoon #1-10. This volume also features a special foreword from Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones.

The next volume, “Cowl & Fowl”, brings together the 10-issue run from Dynamite Comics back in 2023. This collection features a special foreword from writer Amanda Deibert. Finally, there is the “Heroes & Villains” omnibus that collects the 5-issue Negaduck series from Dynamite. It also includes the 8-issue run of Justice Ducks and a special foreword form writer Roger Langridge.
