Destiny 2‘s Destined Heroes quest is a part of the main questline for The Final Shape. In order to complete the campaign, you need to head off on a side quest to obtain an Exotic Sword. Destined Heroes quest has nine steps in total, but they might take some time to finish, simply because you’ll need to veer off course again to complete another couple of side side quests before you can finish up this one. Step 1
The Vanguard radio frequency is being overridden by a Hive broadcast signal. Listen to the message and find out who is behind the comms disruption.
- There’s a strange radio transmission coming from the old Tower in the Lost City… and it’s using a Hive frequency.

Step 2
Savathun has finally revealed herself, but she’s still got plenty of secrets to keep. We need to find out what she’s playing at.
- Investigate the activity of Savathun’s Lucent Hive near the portal.
- Complete Queens, Part I.
Step 3
We’ve been contacted by Micah-10. a legendary Guardian and old friend of Cayde’s Go to the Arbor of Light in the undercroft of the old Tower to contact her.
- Speak to Micah-10 through her conduit in the Arbor of Light.
- Contact Micah-10.
Step 4
Cayde says he needs your help with ‘Operation Super-Secret-Hush-Hush.’ Some things never change. You should probably go see what this is about.
- Talk to Cayde-6 in the Lost City.
- Talk to Cayde-6.
Step 5
Ghost seems to have something on his mind. Have a chat with him.
- Ghost has something he wants to talk to you about. Go to the ledge of the old Tower in the Lost City to speak with him.
- Check in with Ghost.
Step 6
Ghost has found some leads for us to chase. One points towards the Light’s effects on the physical universe.
- Talk to Ghost to begin the quests “Lost in the Light” and “Found in the Dark.” Work with your allies to explore the possibility of synergy between Light and Darkness.
- Acquire quests.
- Complete “Lost in the Light.”
- Complete “Found in the Dark.”
Step 7
Since arriving in the Pale Heart, we’ve learned so much, and discovered so many secrets. So, of course, Savathun wants a piece.
- Investigate spikes in Taken energy in the Refraction.
- Complete Queen, Part II.
Step 8
Ghost has a few thoughts about this new power, but it’s not safe to have that discussion here. Find a safe place in the Lost City to confer with Ghost.
- Go to the Lost City and confer with Ghost.
- Confer with Ghost.
Step 9
We’re breaking new ground in paracausality. Ghost thinks we need to unify Light and Darkness into a coherent force.
- Use the Dyadic Prism to access the new landing zone in the Sacrium and claim your destiny.
- Make your own fate.
