House of the Dragon season 2 is nearly upon us – and Ewan Mitchell is clearly having fun with it. The cast of the show walked the black-and-green carpet in London today, attending a premiere roughly a week before season 2 drops to Max. The entire cast was there and looking like the A-list celebrities they are, and Mitchell – who plays Aemond, brother to Rhaenyra – was no exception. He showed up at the London premiere wearing a blood-red velvet suit, and on the black-and-green carpet, he was asked to describe season 2 of House of the Dragon in just three words. His response?
His answer was Toothless – yes, that Toothless, from How to Train Your Dragon. While we love Toothless and have to admit he’s one of the top-ranking pop culture dragons of all time, the Dreamworks animated dragon is a far cry from the gritty, blood-soaked world of House of the Dragon and Westeros. Maybe Mitchell is implying that Aemond just wants a life of peace, but it’s far more likely that he’s just trolling the audience.
A cheeky response that reveals absolutely nothing about the series. We’ve got to give him some credit for that one, even as we imagine the reporter behind the microphone rolling their eyes. Moving on, Mitchell was asked if he could ride any dragon, what would his ideal dragon be?

House of the Dragon Star Explains Why Jon Snow Wouldn’t Stand a Chance Against Daemon TargaryenIn season 1 of House of the Dragon, Ewan Mitchell doesn’t have much time for humor. He played Prince Aemond Targaryen, third child of King Viserys. He became known as “One-Eye Aemond” after he lost an eye in a fight, and he rides the dragon Vhagar starting in episode 7. Despite his reputation as a fearsome warrior, his control over his dragon leaves a lot to be desired, and season 1 draws to a close with Aemond accidentally killing his own kin and laying the groundwork for a civil war.
