If you love clubbing mobs and other players with the mace in Minecraft, you can never go wrong with a good enchantment like Density or Breach. Both enchantments are great for significantly improving the mace’s effectiveness in combat, though in different ways. The Density enchantment is designed to work with the mace’s smash attack, whereas Breach targets armor. Of course, to effectively use the Breach and Density enchantments in Minecraft, you’re going to need specifics!
What Does the Density Enchantment Do?
The Breach enchantment in Minecraft works similarly to Sharpness, only in reverse. Rather than increase your overall damage, you reduce the effectiveness of your target’s armor. Essentially, a mace enchanted with Breach will, well, breach your target’s armor a lot easier (pun intended).
Each level of Breach ignores 15% more armor. For example, Breach IV ignores 60% of your target’s armor, whereas Breach II is only 30%. If you’re PVPing, Breach IV is going to be a godsend against players wearing Netherite armor enchanted with Protection.
To get the Breach enchantment in Minecraft, you’ll need an enchanting table. As long as you have the experience points, enough lapis lazuli, and a mace, the enchant will be an option right off the bat.
What Does the Breach Enchantment Do?
Unlike Breach, the Density enchantment is a straight damage increase, just like Sharpness. However, it only increases the damage of your smash attack, the mace’s signature ability, by 0.5 damage per level. For example, if you fall three blocks, you’ll deal an extra 7.5 damage.
The Density enchantment is also available right away in Minecraft. Simply visit the nearest enchanting table with a brand-new mace, and you’re good to go.
One last point to make: Density and Breach aren’t compatible with Minecraft. You can’t have a mace with both enchantments. If you want a really good companion enchantment, try the Wind Burst enchantment. It’s especially awesome with the Density enchantment, letting you chain consecutive smash attacks!
