“I’m gonna wreck it!” Oh the joy those words brought to millions of viewers all over the world. The original Wreck-it Ralph grossed more than $500 million in all regions, and although the movie tied things up pretty dang nicely, Disney would have been insane not to continue riding this virtual reality money train. And riding it they certainly are, with a sequel waiting just around the corner in 2018. Wreck-it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet sounds absolutely hilarious just by the title alone, and exactly the kind of thing the unfortunate big guy would end up doing. Disney tweeted a short and frankly kinda pointless teaser video… of just the logo.

I mean, really, why did that need to be a 15-second video when just a picture would have done the trick? Eh, whatever. Wreck-it Ralph 2Â is being directed once again by Rich Moore, and Felix, Sgt. Calhoun, and Vanellope will make their returns with their original voice actors. Don’t forget that Felix and Calhoun are married now, and Vanellope became the princess/President of her own game. Thankfully, her status doesn’t prevent her from joining Ralph on his adventure, which takes place six real-time years after the first movie left off. Additional plot details haven’t been revealed.
With the cast’s ability to leave their own games, the world literally opens up to them. I’d personally love to see them end up in the real world somehow, trying to get back to the virtual one. How’s that for breaking the fourth wall? We won’t know what else Disney has planned for Wreck-it Ralph until some time after the Internet is back up and running, but you can bet it’ll be a heck of a thing in the meantime.
Luckily, Ralph’s little digital excursion hasn’t affected The Nerd Stash‘s ability to bring you all the movie and silver screen news you could hope for. Popcorn not included.
