Christmas came early in Warframe as the new update, Jade Shadows, also came bundled with an event. This event is brimming with rewards similar to the Christmas event last year, showering players with some of the rarest and most expensive items in the game. To reap these rewards, however, you need a coordinated clan or community effort along with our Warframe Operation: Belly of the Beast guide.

What is Operation: Belly of the Beast in Warframe

Simply put, Warframe Operation: Belly of the Beast is the latest event in the game. It will last 30 days starting from June 18, 2024. This event is tied to the new quest ‘Jade Shadows’ and is also interwoven into the new game mode, Ascension.

It comes with rewards for both individual players and clans. Each participation in the aforementioned mission types will make you eligible for certain rewards.

How to Start Warframe Operation: Belly of the Beast

First off, there are certain prerequisites before you’re able to dive in and participate in this game-wide and clan-wide event. Follow these instructions.

  1. Ensure that you’ve completed the New War quest. It has its own prerequisites for completion.
  2. Once you’ve completed the New War quest, check the quest interface in your ship and select ‘Jade Shadows.’ It should be available now.
  3. If you have other activities to attend to, it’s best to wrap them up as you can’t halt your progress in the Jade Shadows quest without restarting from the beginning.
  4. Select ‘Begin’ if you’re ready. The quest should last 30 minutes or so. Finish it.
  5. Once you’re done, you’ll finally be able to access Operation: Belly of the Beast on your ship’s mission panel.

To participate in Operation: Belly of the Beast, you must join missions marked with the event icon. These missions will then reward you with Vestigial Motes and Volatile Motes (more on that later).

These missions will be available to you in several locations and missions.

  • Ascension mission in Brutus, Uranus – This location is permanent and has no timer.
  • Alerts – You can also check in the alerts tab for varying mission types related to the Operation. These are not permanently available, however. Some of these missions, such as Exterminate, might be faster than the new Ascension mission type.

Every time you complete a mission associated with Operation: Belly of the Beast, you’ll be rewarded with several Vestigial Motes and Volatile Motes. These Motes are the currency for Operation: Belly of the Beast and you can purchase the rewards using these Motes.

You can access all of the rewards from Belly of the Beast via Ordis in Larunda Relay, Mercury. You can fast travel to his location by selecting ‘Fast Travel‘ from the Main Menu. Ordis will be the one selling the event rewards to you, which you need to pay for with Volatile/Vestigial Motes.

Speaking of rewards, there are three categories in which you can spend your Volatile/Vestigial Motes. I’ll be explaining and enumerating each of them. Remember that the Volatile Motes rewards will be gone once the event is over.

Commit Volatile Motes Rewards

Most of these rewards are for individual players and don’t count towards the clan effort. However, the Ephemeras will remain locked until the whole Warframe community (and your clan) contributes enough Volatile Motes to unlock them. Only then can you purchase these Ephemera.

However, if you farm your Motes from the Ascension mission in Uranus, you’ll get Vestigial Motes, a currency specific to this category. So you might as well spend those Vestigial Motes if you have them.

So if I were you, I’d focus on obtaining Arcane Energie, Grace, and Barrier from the Clan Only rewards as these are some of the rarest and most game-changing (and expensive) items in Warframe. Opportunities to obtain these for practically a free price tag don’t often come around, so grab it.

Warframe is available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.
