Jon Gosselin knows a thing or two about being on reality TV. The father of eight and his former wife, Kate Gosselin, previously starred in a successful reality show titled Jon & Kate Plus 8. The series documented their lives with a set of twins as well as sextuplets. However, their reality TV days didn’t end well when the pair became engulfed in drama during their divorce. Now, Jon only has ties to two of his children and continues to battle Kate in court. Recently, A-list actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, revealed that they were going to star in their own family reality television series. Of course, Jon has some words of wisdom for the actor before the show begins airing.
Jon Gosselin reveals that he has no idea why Alec Baldwin and his wife would want to allow cameras into their home and around their seven children. In addition, Jon admitted that he and Kate Gosselin were relatable because they were working-class people trying to balance a hectic family life, per Fox News. The same can’t be said for Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. Alec is a huge Hollywood star, and the pair are wealthy, which allows them to afford childcare help.
“Why would you invite drama into your household when all you’ve been trying to do is live, you know, a private life, and then you’re a paid actor,” Jon revealed. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to put your family on television, especially your children,” he continued.
“You’re a successful actor. You’re already scrutinized for certain things, and now you’re going to put seven children into the public eye. So pretty much you’ve already created this, this massive amount of wealth to protect your family, and now you want to make them public as well? It makes no sense. You’ve got to remember, you can’t quit being famous.”
Jon Gosselin went on to admit another result of his reality TV fame. He says anytime he’s tried to do something outside of the scope of reality television, he’s been criticized. His children are in the tabloids, and his romantic relationships have been dissected. Meanwhile, the bad blood between him and Kate Gosselin has been a topic of interest for decades.
Alec Baldwin may be used to the spotlight already. However, his young children are now going to be open for public debate and speculation. Meanwhile, the actor is still taking heat for the fatal shooting on the set of his film Rust. It appears to be a chaotic time for the actor, and Jon can relate, which is why he’s telling Alec to run for hills when it comes to putting his kids and marriage on television.
