NerdBlock has a variety of subscription boxes to choose from and we are here to talk about the Sci-Fan Block.  What is this subscription box all about, you ask? According to their website,

Sci-Fan Block is THE science fiction and fantasy subscription box for true fans! Your Block contains a variety of licensed merchandise as well as fantasy and sci-fi collectibles that are carefully selected by Nerd Block’s team of geek culture aficionados. Your fantasy and science fiction subscription box contains items that are thoroughly tested for quality, collectability and of course, fun!

Cost:  Starts at $19.99/month

What comes in the box?: You’ll receive 4-6 fun collectibles & one exclusive T-shirt.

Let’s see what came in the February 2017 Sci-Fan Block.

:

Sci-Fan

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Shirt: This shirt brings back memories of the days when the movie came out and the TV series.  I really never watched it but I’m sure there are a lot of people out there that were fans and would love this shirt.

Sci-FAn

Supernatural Belt:  This belt is not one I would particularly wear but, then again, I don’t wear belt very often.  Honestly, this is more of a collectible than actual apparel item to me.  The buckle is not the best and I just don’t see people wearing this very much.  This is not to take away from Supernatural  or Sci-Fan Block.  It’s just not my style.

Sci-FAn

FunEdibles Slimer Lime Gelatin Treat:  This Ghostbusters – inspired Gelatin treat was also included in the Sci-Fan Block.  Subscribers either got this or the Stay Puft Man made out of marshmallow.  Pretty cool, huh?

Hellboy: The Companion:  Barnes and Noble offer the following summary of this book:

Written by Steve Weiner (The Will Eisner Companion) and Jason Hall (Beware the Creeper, Trigger, Detective Comics) and densely illustrated with classic images from the comics as well as a handful of new drawings from Mignola, this volume offers thorough documentation of the Hellboy universe, compiling the many complex pieces that make up the life of the World’s Greatest Paranormal Investigator into an easily understandable format. From Abe Sapien to the secret origin of the world, this complete compendium is every hardcore Hellboy fan’s key to the mind of Mike Mignola, and the ultimate introduction for anyone looking to begin their journey in the weird and wondrous world he has created.

That’s it for the February 2017 Sci-Fan Block. Personally, this box did not completely excite me.  It is not because the products weren’t nice quality.  It is a simple personal preference.  I’m not a huge Science and Fantasy follower.  But if you are, this is a great box to get each month.

I am the wife of a real nerd who has developed some nerd-like tendencies along the way. I am a mom of two teenagers who is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up! I spend my days working at the local community & technical college as a Director of Business & Industry training. At night and on weekends, I love spending time with family, binge-watching tv series, playing video games with the kids, graphic design, and, yes, reviewing products. I have my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Communication and contemplating a Doctorate…I consider myself a lifetime learner!
